The more I read and experiment with Traci Bautista's COLLAGE UNLEASHED . . . the more thrilling her techniques become . . . I'm not good at following directions nor recipes so these are my INTERPRETATIONS of her techniques . . . Chapter 1 deals with paper towel dying . . . instead of dipping the towels in dye . . . I used my purchased and/or homemade color washes . . . homemade color wash recipe can be found at http://www.fredbmullett.com/ . . . Click on TECHNIQUES . . . Click on ADIRONDACK COLOR WASH SPRAY CHART . . .
Chapter 2 deals with Paint Scraping . . .
Yesterday, my family friend/stamping buddy, Lori Tokita and I experimented with Chapter 3 . . . Crayon Techniques . . . we were amazed at how exciting ordinary crayons could be in an art form . . . my internet stamping buddy, Cathy Yamashita, taught me how to do the spots . . .
I hope you can experience the adventure of this book first hand . . . I'm so glad I heard about it through my internet stamping buddies!!!!

Greetings from Florida! Your art is BEAUTIFUL! I love your studio - and sooo much stuff ... lucky you! Also I got some ideas for my developing my own art journal. I'm curious, how did you do the crayon dots? holding a lighter to the tip? I'd appreciate if you could share (maybe in Janes Lab group--I'm one of the silent members?) Thank you and continued creativity to you.
I loved that book but had to sell it to make money a couple months ago. I loved her techniques and how your backgrounds turned out! Very cool.
WOW Michi, the colors and textures you've created are SO amazing! I've played with TBautista's fusion paper technique and really Love that. You make me want to get the book out again! TFS your beautiful creations and fun!
Wonderful work Michi! I've looked at the book several times at Barnes & Noble, but put it aback on the shelf. Now I have to to wonder why!
Thanks for sharing.
Vicki

Hi Michi,
Very cool techniques to try! I wanna hear more about your acting career girl! I started with a brand new class today, but I'm not bitter LOL!
Have fun making art and more art!

Hi Stephanie!
THANK YOU for visiting my blog and leaving such a positive, up-beat comment!!! You are so kind!!!! I hope you find time to go through her book, as well . . . it's SO enlightening for me!!!!! Have fun!!!!!!!!!!
Great techies!!! You rock Miss Michi!! As usual!
aaaaackk! (that was a "wow, what a coincidence" aaaaackk, not like a cat yack aaaaaackk.)
i'm pouring over that book right NOW, too--thank you for showing your examples!
if you have a warming tray (one of those flat things, plugs in, that they used to use to keep appetizers warm), or can find one at a thrift store, it is WAY fun to cover it with foil, put a piece of paper on it, and color while the crayons melt.
Michi,
So glad you are enjoying my book! Beautiful work...
happy creating!
Artfully...
Traci

Love these! I had such fun working through Traci's book. We did a funky journal swap on art techniques awhile back, and I've been wanting to make another since!
