Michi This is such a great group. My cousin was the first to start the greyhound rescue. Her husband at the time ran the track in Daytona. She was appalled at how they would kill them when they broke down. After her house became full with dogs, she reached out to the community and the greyhound rescue began. It is so cool to see how it has spread. She is now divorced and a very sought after jewelry designer in Atlanta.

Hi there,

My name is Marielle Reataza, and I am a former student of Mrs. Louise Winders (I hope we're talking about the same person!).

I attended Woodbury Elementary in Garden Grove and finished the 6th grade in 1998. I have since graduated from UC Irvine in 2008 and am currently teaching high school science in South Central LA.

I've always wanted to thank Mrs. Winders for the persistence and dedication to knowledge that she instilled in me. I've always kept her in my heart and in my mind when envisioning what kind of role model I could only hope to be.

If my Mrs. Winders is the same as your friend, please send her my thoughts. I want her to know that after all these years, I'm still thinking of her.

Sincerely,
Marielle Reataza
